- The name scyldmaiden came from when I was reading "Beowulf" in school. The word "scyld" means and is pronounced "shield". Aspiring artist/author if I ever get anything finished. Like to think I can sing, but only with a choir. Gets lost in books far too easily. Takes a very large Black Lab to work. (He only barks at creepy truck drivers.) Can sort of act; likes Shakespear best. Loves being outside.(Except in extreme cold or heat.) Tries to grow in the Catholic faith.
