Horse Fair

I went to the Midwest Horse Fair with Mary on Saturday in Madison. It was very cool to see so many different breeds. I have a new appreciation for the Icelandic Breed. Although small and stocky, the horses are very fast and easy going. I think my favorite horse was the Andalusian stallion, Santiago. The picture I have is actually one of Santiago. Watching the horse respond to his rider was amazing. When Santiago would trot, it looked as if he wasn't touching the ground. He was also shown in a liberty presentation. As soon as his halter was slipped off, he began to run and dance around the ring. He was a total show horse!
If I wanted a horse before, I want one badly now. *sigh* It wouldn't happen for a long time......

I guess Icelandic horses are sort of like Icelandic people, in that they are small and stocky. At least, this Icelandic person is... :)

Anonymous said...

Do you ride Scyld? *sigh* I know exactly how it feels to want a horse but know it won't happen anytime soon. You have my sympathies.

Sheil, you're not short! I wish you were here right now, I'd spank you...

Scyldmaiden said...

I don't ride much. I would like to take riding lessons, but I need to see how the money situation works out.
How tall are you Zenka?

Anonymous said...

Sheila's basically the human equivalent of a beach ball. Draw your own conclusions.

Gregaria said...

You are the meannest sister on the face of the planet, Deirdz! That's pretty much unforgiveable.

Zenka is a somewhat short, but not roundish by a long shot, human being (as opposed to a beach ball)... and she could probably ride a horse if she tried :)

Anonymous said...

Zenka is a little bit taller than Emma, but then you don't know how tall Emma is do you Scyld? I imagine not.
No Zenka, you are as long as a semi-truck, and as fat as a hot air balloon times 1745! Ha ha, beat that!

Anonymous said...

Eva, just for the record, you and Zenker are absurd. I wonder how long this feud will last?!

I agree with Gragaria, you are the meanest sister on this planet, Deirdz! Although, you do make a fabulous friend...

Anonymous said...

*gregaria

Anonymous said...

Hey, Deirdz! Go boil your *something*! I love you too!
Rose, you're so fat that if you got hit by 5 semi trucks, you wouldn't even notice the truck drivers dead on the ground.
Scyld: Opinions vary on how tall I am. I'll go measure myself one of these days and let you know. :)
Oh, and Rose is the only beach ball I know of... No offense. I love you, baby!

Unknown said...

Excuse me!

I think I'm by far the largest person in this comments box, and even I had yet to fufill my dreams of beach-ball-hood.

Don't you kids go bragging about what I've worked so hard to obtain.

Also, I went riding with my aunt and uncle for a whole day on my 10th birthday. It was extremely lovely.

Gregaria said...

Zenka, don't you think your comments are getting a bit insulting even for the comments boxes!? In your own words, sheesh!

Scyldmaiden said...

hahaha!

These comments have taken an interesting turn from one simple question......

Anonymous said...

It's just that Rose and I are having a "fat feud". I still love her.
And Deirdre isn't actually mean in a mean way. It's more like mean in a not-mean/nice/funny way. You guys just don't understand. Honestly, until you guys commented on her saying I was a beach ball I hadn't even batted an eye.
Sorry, Hannah. I'll try to censor them from now on, and maybe Rose and I can continue our feud in person only. Deal, Rose?

Anonymous said...

You guys completely misunderstand! I meant that Sheila was like a beach ball in her bouncy, energetic personality. And she likes to go to the beach. And her happiness is easily deflated.
There you go....

Unknown said...

Well, you *did* say we could draw our own conclusions, hon. Knowing the both of you, it's understandable how it was concluded that an insult was being employed.

Gregaria said...

Yeah, well said, Cow.

I'm sorry I misinterpretted your comments, both of you. In the immortal words of several people, lack of voice inflection during on-line conversations is really annoying.

Anonymous said...

I suppose Zenka...;) Heh heh! I love you too, doll-face. Wait, so am I Deirdz's explanation of a bouncy ball, or am I what everybody else thought? I am so confuzzled!
Oh Scyld, will you pray for my Uncle David. He just passed aways on Sat. Could you ALL pray for him! Thanks a million...

Anonymous said...

Sorry to bust your bubble, Rose, but I was actually talking about Sheez. And you guys were completely right in inferring an insult. I just decided to cover my tracks.
Always, Rose.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, Deirdre was just trying to "cover her tracks"... Someone told me today that "You're not like a beach ball. No where near. You're not brightly striped!" So essentially, I'm a mix between a beach ball and St. Martha. Draw your own conclusions. We seem to be drawing a few too many of our own conclusions lately. That's probably not good.
I've been praying my head off for you guys, Rose. Especially for Uncle Dave's soul. :(
I think I'm *about* 5' 4'' or so... Don't tell Deirdre. I didn't actually get measured recently, so don't quote me on that.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Sheil and Deerdz! You guys rock my socks off! I love you all. Oh Deedree, what does 'inferring' mean? I am too lazy to look it up. Zenka, you are totally like St. Martha!

Anonymous said...

I know. I can't wait to get confirmed. Who's your confirmation saint, Scyld?
We love you too, Rose.

Gregaria said...

Is this the St. Martha from the Bible? As in Martha and Mary?

I'll keep praying for Uncle David. I'm so sorry!

God bless :)

Anonymous said...

Yeah, as in Martha and Mary. I'm sooo excited to get confirmed in two years. Especially after last night. Except mine'll be cooler, because you'll actually be able to focus on something other than the badness of the music, and I won't have this whole pained look on my face through the enitre thing. Plus, you guys are all coming, and that's an order. Mr. Wilson's renting a bus.

Scyldmaiden said...

I'll be praying for your uncle, Rose.
My confirmation saint? Take a guess. I'll give you a hint, it's related to my blogger name...
;)Happy guessing!

Anonymous said...

Wha-what? Urm, St. Beowulf? *not* I have no idea, so you'll just have to tell me. Oh, St. Joan of Arc! I'm sooo good. I'll bet you * dollars that I'm right. :)

Anonymous said...

Thanks for all your prayers! It is so awesome being Confirmed! I feel so incredibly happy and...ahh *sigh*. Although after listening to the music, I have to say that I needed to go to Confession. *Groan*. Zenker, it was just terrific having you there. Thanks all of you who were there! You guys are awesome! God bless. :)

Anonymous said...

I love Confirmations!!! And I'm really looking forward to your's Zenka. By the way, nice guess. I would never have thought of that...

Anonymous said...

Speak for yourself about loving Rose, Sheel.

Oh, Cowee: I like it how I tell you to draw your own conclusions and you guys immediately pounce upon the one most detrimental to my public image.

Look it up, Rosie-pie. Do I have to get you a dictionary for Christmas? A late confirmation present?

Scyldmaiden said...

Right Zenka. That wasn't too hard to guess, huh?

Anonymous said...

It wasn't once I thought about it. But at first, I was just going "What? Beowulf? What?" And I was super confused. But once you actually think about how it's pronounced 'shield', I was on to you. So, call me a genious, and you'll be right. Or not, but you can still call me one.
Emmy: I'm way excited about my conf. too. And Deirdre's. Only mine'll be cooler, because it'll be like a family reunion only more fun.

Anonymous said...

A genious? It would be a little more convincing if spelled right, Shizzy Shibang.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, Deirdz. I pretty much suck at spelling. Excuse my language.

Gregaria said...

AHHH! Wha!? Did you just-! Oooooooooooooooooooh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy gosh. You are *so* in trouble Sheels. Hooooooooooooooooo.

;)

Anonymous said...

Sheil, you shocked the pants off me! Wa-woops, ha ha, forget that. How about you shocked the socks of me, there we go. No Deerdz, I have a dictionary behind me, I just don't feel like looking it up. But since you will not tell me, I suppose I must. Stinker! I love St. Joan Scyld. Good choice!

Anonymous said...

I was about to say, 'Well, that was a conversation stopper!' in reference to my comment. Sorry, guys, but it's true. :/ I'll try to curb my obscene side next time I talk about my spelling. It just sort of... comes out.
Many apologies. Grin.

Anonymous said...

Ne_ P_st...

Anonymous said...

What the heck is that supposed to mean z.?

Anonymous said...

Figure it out. If you add the letters that are missing you'll know what it says... ROSE! I know that was you. Anyway, it's something I often say at this lul in conversations on blogs. Yeah.

Keep the prayers for our house coming, everyone! We got a full-price offer yesterday, and the people who offered showed up on the day that my sister and I finished a novena to St. Joseph. The house inspector guy is coming next Thursday. Until then nothing can happen. We don't think there's anything that'll go wrong, but if it does, then the whole deal can fall apart. PLEASE pray that it all goes okay. Thanks, you guys. I'm praying for all of you. :)

Fiona S M Bernhoft said...

Woah... I've been missing things! Sheila is short for a bernhoft, but for a curtis she's an absolute giant! *hyeck hyeck*

Anonymous said...

thanks, Bingy. That's pretty true... :) I'm almost as tall as Anthony, if you even remember how tall he is, Scyld. (Anthony=Andrew) Anyway, I still say, Ne- PO-t

Anonymous said...

Yes that was me... You can see how 'bright' I am, eh? I am praying for you guys. Mmm I hope that you can sell the house at full price. That t'would be great!
Hey Bingy, us Curtii aren't that terrbily short. *Ahem* most of us aren't. I am 'shrimpy' -In the words of Kodi. Yep, I am pretty dairn short.
God Bless you all!

Anonymous said...

We aren't short. We are just vertically challenged!

Anonymous said...

No, you guys are just short. Sorry.

Anonymous said...

Deerdz, we aren't that short! Really! Emma is not that much shorter then Shill. Truly!

Anonymous said...

No, only about 6 inches shorter than me. Okay, not that much, but she's a lot shorter than I am. And yes, you guys are just short. You're welcome.

Post Script: why the heck does welcome have an 'e' on the end? It doesn't make sense. *sigh*

Anonymous said...

Zenka, I'm not a lot shorter than you! End of discussion (or I will be forced bring up your chin, nose or feet!)

Anonymous said...

Well done, Emma. :)

Anonymous said...

Yes, I am taller than you, and if you value your life, don't even think about bringing up my nose, chin, or feet. Although my one comfort is that my feet aren't as ugly as they were two months ago... So there. And if you're not careful and don't value your life, than I'll simply bring up embarrassing things that you will roll over in your grave to see posted on this blog. So there. Not so nicely done, Emma. Don't you know you should never go up against a Bernhoft in matters such as these? You should by now... Sucker.

Anonymous said...

Cut it oat, Shill. Don't dwell on the past when you have today to work on. It'll be part of the past, too, before you know it. :)

* Today's friendly word of advice is brought to you by Madeline's Rome Fund. To find out how you can donate money, call her.

Anonymous said...

I don't have enough money to donate anything to you, Herm, or else I would. Soarry.

Fiona S M Bernhoft said...

I *made* 6000 dollars yesterday... although strictly speaking, they're in the shape of a Knights of Columbus scholarship for smart people (that's me) and I only get 1500 a year, and it has to be put towards paying for college. But if it weren't I might donate some of it to Herm.
And, Kurtis Kid Klan, just becuase some of you are almost as tall as Sheila does not mean you are tall. Sheila is pretty stinkin' short!

Unknown said...

All this talk about who among you isn't short amuses me. *chortles descend from far above all of you*

Anonymous said...

Sheil, what can you say about me that's embarrassing?! As for you, I should bring up waffles and whipped cream as well as your nose and chin. Even with your feet out of the picture, I still have plenty of back up resources. Ha!
And yes Bing, we Curti are short, I know.

Anonymous said...

Oh, puh-lenty, Emmy. I haven't known you two years for nothing. :)
Eww! Don't use k's like that, Feef. You sicko! *maniacal grin* *thin, reedy voice* you will surely die....

Anonymous said...

Oh and I can back up Emma if she need any more embarrassing tales...especially about your nose *snort* ;) Such great times! I love you dearest!

Anonymous said...

Um, guys? Since everyone who has posted on this blog in the last two weeks all ready knows anything you guys could post, these threats are pretty empty. How about you all just quit repeating yourselves and say something constructive for once? I'll start:

Hermes, if you weren't so incredibly graceful when you move I would think you were the most beautiful picture ever.

Anonymous said...

Apparently, Scyld, you're the cutest thing in the world. (apart from me) I have it on high authority, actually.
Is that constructive enough?

Gregaria said...

Okay, okay... I'll give constructiveness a shot.

Zenka, I really like your haircut! It suits you very well.

And Scyld, I love your irish dancing wig! :D Do you still wear glasses?

I guess I should ask first, are you still reading this comments box on your blog!? :/

Kodi said...

I think I'm going to have to agree with you on that one there Zenka ;)

Anonymous said...

Ha ha! :)

Peacemaker D, thank you for the rahthuh interesting compliment. ;\ He he!

Anonymous said...

I love you, Kodi.
Oh, Scyld, Kodi thinks I'm cuter than you are! Ha!
Thanks, Hannah. At least someone likes it. *sigh*
I agree, Hermes, that D gave you a rather interesting compliment.
Kodi, you're so great that if you were any greater you'd be dead.

Anonymous said...

Wow, that was a really disjointed comment. (what a cool word...)
Oh, and I didn't mean to put that 'ha!' in there. It just sort of slipped. And if you ever get around to reading your comments box, Scyld, I'll leave you something constructive to brighten your day. But before I do, I just wanted to say that I'm almost definitely going to meet you when you come out here. Huzzah! Oh, and just out of curiosity, how tall are you? (I know, this question will be answered by Kodi, but that's okay.) Ah yes, constructiveness... You're way cuter than I am, so I guess my high authority was wrong. :) Not that being cuter than I really means anything, but if you're way cuter, I guess it begins to be constructive. Let me stick a few more ways in there... :)
Happy Birthday to no one in particular!

Post script: that was even more disjointed a comment than the last... *sigh*
and fzbfexza is a cool 'word'. I love that word verification thing.

Kodi said...

Zenka: I meant to agree only with part of your comment, that being, "Apparently, Scyld, you're the cutest thing in the world". That's what I get for only half reading your comments.
And Scyld is approximately as tall as I am, so she will just one more of the many people that you have to look up to there Zenka;)

Anonymous said...

See, I told you Kodi would answer that question for you... Are you even reading these? Heh, you should know to be more careful with my comments by now, Kodi. But I was just being annoying, and I knew that you think she's way cuter than I. Did you like my constructive comment to you, Kodi?
And only if I don't wear heels, Kodi, will I be super shorter than you.

Kodi said...

I did indeed like your constructive comment Zenka, thank you!
With heels, you may not be super shorter than me, but the fact remains that you *are* still shorter. And by a good bit I might add!

Gregaria said...

Hooray for short people! I am average height. Hooray for average height people too! Oh, and hooray for tall people as well. Ha ha!

Anonymous said...

Wa-hoo! I have been missing out on some rather...umm...interesting comments.
Thanks Gregaria! I am short (as Kodi reminds me quite often...thanks Kodi! I love you too!)Ha ha ha! I love what you said Sheil about your 'high authority'. *sigh*...;) I agree that you are definitely not the cutest thing in the world. :)Sorry, but the truth hurts and there are some more-...oh nevermind. That was not very constructive, sorry y'al. God bless!

Anonymous said...

Guys, in just two days, tomorrow will be yesterday. I want you to take that to heart and act on it.
Mmm... Jane Eyre is a good book. *sigh*
Hooray for short people is right. I'm not that much shorter than you, Kodi, because you yourself are fairly short. So there. No offense or anything...
But I have to say, Hannah, I'd rather cheer for people with brown/green eyes. We haven't had a club meeting in a while. Have to remedy that soon. Hey, Kodi: what color are Scyld's eyes. I might as well ask you because I know you'll answer. *wink*
THANK YOU MONSTROPOLIS!!

Anonymous said...

Eva, that was really mean. I wouldn't expect that from you. Well, I think you are cute. So does Mom. And dear Monsieur 'high authority'. *wink*

Kodi said...

You know, you've already asked that question once before. But seeing as you seem to be short in memory (and stature for that matter;), I will state it once again. Sie hat sehr schöne, blaue Augen. Schöner und blauer als französiche Augen ich denke!

Anonymous said...

Sorry Emma, but there are some cuter people. You have to agree! I'm not going to mention who I think is cuter, so we will just leave it at that. Blue eyes are cool too. But I do know of someone who has really nice brown/green eyes. You do too Shill! :)My blue eyes are nothing spectacular but that's okay, I can just go admiring everybody else's. Great!

Anonymous said...

I remember that now, Kodi. I just forgot for the moment I asked.
I know who's eyes you think are beautiful. Or who you just think is beautiful in general. *sarcastically* Thanks for the tremendous compliment, Rose. I love you too. Fat head...
At least Emma loves me, even if she doesn't like my hair cut. *sigh* I guess you can't expect perfection out of everyone, as Kodi would say... *wink*

Gregaria said...

Dude, you guys are insulting to each other. I know, I know, they're all sarcastic, but that doesn't make it any less jarring to read on a blog.

It was nice to talk to you, Scyld! Can't wait to meet you!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, it would've been nice to talk to you if KODI were more GENEROUS! Just kidding... I got to yell "We love YA!" at the phone, so I hope you enjoyed that. i can't wait to meet you either! Finally... *wink*
Anyway, I think you should follow the trend of new posts and post. If you think about it, 73 comments and a month and 1 day is kind of a long time...

Anonymous said...

Oh ya, and who do you 'know' that I think is beautiful eh? P-shaw! You're welcome. I love you Zenka!
Well I have never talked to you Scyld, but I sure as heck can't wait to meet you! You are coming out July 21-28 right? I can't exactly remember, even though Kodi has told me a million times...Sorry Kodi. :)

Kodi said...

A million?!? I think more accurately it could be stated as 999,999.99 that I have told you! Keep your facts straight;)
And she is coming out July 22-30.

...Oh, and just for the record, it is only a mere 26 days until I fly out to see her! Huzzah!

Gregaria said...

That is mere! Less than a month. I wish I were taking a trip this summer... *pouts* ;)

Anonymous said...

I wish I weren't moving this summer. *pouts*
Gee, I wonder if Scyld will ever read these comments. It's been 40 some odd comments since she last commented. Tsk tsk. Ha ha! I love you guys!

Anonymous said...

I wish you guys weren't moving either. *sobs hysterically*
Hooray for you Kodi! 21 days now.

Anonymous said...

Oops! My math was a bit off. I thought you said 23 days Kodi.

Anonymous said...

Okay so I was .01 off. Sorry! Ha ha! From now on, I will try to keep my facts straighter. 22-30, I will try not to forget that again. 24 days now...you must be so dairn excited Kodi! ;) One last thing Kodi, is that the complete record? (*wink wink* I love Louie...)

Anonymous said...

Rose, please get those things right. First of all, it's the permanent record, not complete. And secondly, it was Mr. Herman who said that, not Louie. Gosh! Get it right next time. Ugh.
I love Emma.

Anonymous said...

Sorry Zenka. I thought it was Louie (I love Louie!), that is what Emma said. I know, I always say complete instead of permanent, sorry...
Please pray for Uncle Dave's soul! It has been one month since he died...I miss him so much...please pray for me. I love you guys.

Anonymous said...

Umm, Sheil, why do you love me? Not that I mind being loved or anything, of course. Dude, this time in two stinking months you will be in CA and I will not see you for about six months! I think I'll go curl up on my bed and cry.
I love you too.

Anonymous said...

Talk about sitting up and bed and crying Emma! I will be doing that when you and Sheila are in Canada, and I still won't be seeing her for 6 months. Maybe I will have to plan some parties...hmm...
Oh well keep up the prayers for Uncle Dave, and perchance if you happen to think of me, you could say a little prayer for me. They are so appreciated!

Gregaria said...

Prayers all around!

God bless.

Anonymous said...

Thanks! Y'all are wonderful!

I see this has been an expanding thread that has run way off it's tangent........
I hate my home internet; it is so slow, a slug slides faster. I have tried to read some of the comments, but I only have a small time slot to check them at work. I see you all have been busy. hmmm...*goes off to write a new post.*

I just had to make this an even 90 comments. Increments of 5, people. That's the way to go.
